Our Vision.
Rewarding the intrepid traveler by showing them rural New Zealand at its best. To tempt them to take the road less travelled - in the utmost style and comfort. Nest, in the heart of the Hakataramea Valley is a hidden jewel on our family farm in the middle of the South Island. Our luxury treehouses offer guests something special, an enchanting experience to remember. While relaxing in total privacy, hidden from the world high in the tree canopy, guests are spoilt with luxurious amenities, local produce, and attractions. It’s our hope that with just one step on the swing bridge leading to the tree house guests will be taken back to a time of simple carefree joy and can truly relax in their peaceful surroundings.
Our Story.
We are Andrew and Elizabeth Hayes owners of Million Springs Farm in the Stunning Hakataramea Valley. The former sheep and beef and more recently dairy farm have been in the Hayes family for six generations and is now the proud home of Nest.
Since taking over the property in 2009 and progressing the farm, we have always been looking for other ways to celebrate our land. Nest is all about subtly immersing people in nature, taking them on the path less travelled to explore and enjoy a more authentic rural New Zealand.
Our family loves this part of the world. After farming this land for more than a century there can be no doubt it is truly our family nest and we look forward to sharing it with you.
The Tree house.
I have always had the desire to design and build something special. In my childhood I spent countless days in our family’s tree house, there was no better place to escape to, full of imagination and adventures. Andy helped his father plant the Nest tree block on a sunny hill-face on the farm as a youngster and once we returned and saw the trees, and more importantly the stunning views we knew this is where we had to build.
With Nest we want to recreate that feeling of escaping to somewhere special and unique, reinstate some of that childhood curiosity, the feeling of running through the trees to discover some new, exciting destination and adventures.
